First I would like to thank other committee members for all their help, in particular Jenny Ball. In addition to this we have some new committee members, Erling Holmberg (southern rep) Gordon Deuce, Dave Warnock both general committee members & our new treasurer Nigel James. 98) Event News: Summer Series Nationals at Thorpe Bay Yacht Club - Race Report (Article Published: 25th July 2017 at 17:34 pm) Thorpe Bay, Essex hosted 60 entrants for the Sprint 15 National Championships sponsored by GJW Direct Insurance and Windsport. Entrants came from far and wide including Isle of Wight, Wales, Devon, the North and the Essex area. We were particularly pleased to welcome seventeen sailors competing in the Nationals for the first time and five youth entrants. more.. |
99) General News: Sprint 15 Minimum Weight (Article Published: 16th July 2017 at 16:35 pm) There is a circular that has been sent to many of our members which is entitled “The Sprint 15 Weight Issue – an Alternative View”, which makes the case of not adopting the 110Kg minimum weight proposal. This circular which has been put together predominantly by owners of the new light weight boats and plays down the importance of weight and contains a number of inaccuracies and omissions.
